Coaches Hanie & Seabolt met with prospective soccer players on October 18 after school. Important information packets were distributed to the students including Physical, Medical History, Insurance, Parental Consent and Code Of Conduct forms. All of these forms are MANDATORY and must be completed, signed and submitted to Ms. Watkins by January 6, 2012. If you did not attend the meeting and do not have the packet, you can go to the Forms & Files page and download the documents there. All prospective players must have completed a physical and have a Physical Form on file at the school in order to participate in tryouts.
Fitness Program: This program was distributed by coaches at the meeting – download and print the information. It trains 3 Energy systems. It is important that you follow the Recovery Times for each activity. You should do a 10-minute jog and stretch before each day’s activity. It is important that you are fit before tryouts begin. So, begin this training now and we’ll see you on January 17th for Conditioning.
Important Dates:
January 6: All forms turned in Ms. Watkins
January 17-20 (Tue-Fri): Pre-tryout Conditioning and Fitness Testing – Panther Stadium, 3:50 – 5:15 pm daily (Running shoes only – No cleats)
Jan 23-26 (Mon-Thur): Tryouts – 4:00 – 6:15 pm daily (Boys & Girls) (Cleats and shinguards required)
After Tryouts and teams have been selected, practices will begin and all players will be REQUIRED to have shinguards with the NOCSAE seal. Player height must correspond with the requirements posted on the shinguard or they will not be allowed to practice.
Winter Break Announcement: For the teams listed below, players will be expected to participate in Training and Games as noted during Winter Break. Please arrange your personal schedules accordingly.
Varsity Girls – You will train Feb 21, 22 & 23 (Tue-Thur) and have a game Feb 24 (Fri). You will have Feb 20 (Mon) off.
JV Girls – You will have all Winter Break off.
Varsity Boys – You will have games on Feb 21 & 24 (Tue & Fri) and will train Feb 20, 22 & 23 (Mon, Wed & Thur); No time off
JV Boys – You will train on Feb 20 (Mon) and will have a game on Feb 21 (Tue); you will have Feb 22-24 (Wed – Fri) off.
